A Welcome Message from Our President
Welcome to the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). IMA is an association for Accountants and Financial Professionals in business. Its primary mission is to provide a forum for research, practice development, education, knowledge sharing, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and best business practices in management accounting and finance.
The Oklahoma City Chapter wants to further this mission by providing these same opportunities within our community. Periodically we will be conducting technical meetings with speakers touching on relevant topics for today’s professional. We have a couple of social events lined up to give you not only the opportunity to learn about our organization and its certification program, but also the ability to meet and network with other Accountants and Financial Manager professionals. There are leadership opportunities available for you to develop skills to help advance your career by serving on the board, speaking at one of our technical meetings, or assisting various needs of the organization. Finally we want to advance the profession by encouraging you to pursue the Certified Management Accountant (CMA). This professional credential validates and demonstrates your mastery of financial planning, analysis, control, professional ethics and decision support.

Asset Valuation and Goodwill Impairment Topic in March
Kimberly Beaucourt, CPA, ABV, CFF, Managing Consultant for Forensic & Valuation Services for BKD, will address the chapter on intangible asset valuation and goodwill impairment testing at the March 8, 2012, technical meeting. The meeting will be held at the Credit Union House, Credit Union Association of Oklahoma, 631 East Hill Street, Oklahoma City. Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 am. New Officers Installed for 2011-2012

Oklahoma City Chapter Wins IMA Membership Awards
The Institute of Management Accountants announced that the Oklahoma City chapter won both the Membership Retention Award and the Membership Growth Award for the Warner Division in the 2011 IMA Chapter Competition. The awards were presented to the chapter at the IMA's 92nd Annual Conference & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, in June.
